Sharne has a BA (Hons) in Art History and a post-graduate Master of Research. Now a PhD candidate, her research project focuses on the relationship between Australian contemporary art and walking.

In 2018 Sharne co-curated the exhibition From Here to There: Australian art and walking at Lismore Regional Gallery.

Sharne co-curated the exhibition with Jane Denison based on a shared interest in walking and art and selected works either based on a visual reference to the act of walking, or an artwork produced as the result of walking.

The exhibition featured work by Lauren Brincat, Dean Brown, Daniel Crooks, Nici Cumpston, Rebecca Gallo, Agatha Gothe-Snape, Alex Karaconji, Noel McKenna, Sarah Mosca, Nell, Liam O’Brien and Sarah Rodigari. Alongside runs an innovative public and education program creatively engaging both artists and the community in activities involving both art and walking and even sessions at the local pub!
